Go Green!
UCLA faculty and staff already recycle more than 300 tons of white paper every year — the equivalent of up to 9,300 trees, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
Now, mixed-paper recycling will boost the university's tree-saving power even higher by making it easy to recycle color paper, newspaper, cardboard and more.
Mixed paper bins will be at desks across campus, beginning in Franz, Murphy, Law, Strathmore, Public Affairs, La Kretz and Facilities Management. What's more, a new compactor truck collecting recycled paper on campus runs on compressed natural gas.
