Pre-Purim Bash at the Fowler
In conjunction with its exhibition, "Light and Shadows: The Story of Iranian Jews," UCLA’s Fowler Museum will be hosting a Pre-Purim Bash, open to the public, on Saturday, Feb. 9, from 8-11 p.m. Purim is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the deliverance of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from destruction in the wake of a plot by Haman, a story recorded in the biblical Book of Esther. Guests planning on attending are advised to come in fancy dress or masquerade, keeping with the traditions of the Purim celebration. Attendees will be able to enjoy a plethora of activities, including a gallery tour from 8:30-9:30 p.m., an appearance by artist Hailey Loman, drinks, desserts and hamantaschen treats, dancing, live performances and surprises.
