Filmmaker Michael Moore at Royce Hall
Iconic and sardonic filmmaker Michael Moore
comes to Royce Hall on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 8-11 p.m. to talk about and sign copies of his new book, "Here Comes Trouble: Stories From My Life" (Grand Central Publishing (Sept., 2011). Moore crashed upon the American consciousness in 1989 with "Roger and Me," documenting the economic downturn of his hometown of Flint, Michigan in the wake of auto industry downsizing. Among his numerous works since are Academy Award-winning film "Fahrenheit 9/11" and the TV documentary series "The Awful Truth."
Moore’s autobiographical book offers up two dozen stranger-than-fiction stories from his youth. An excerpt: "I had an unusually large-sized head, though this was not uncommon for a baby in the Midwest. The craniums in our part of the country were designed to leave a little extra room for the brain to grow in case one day we found ourselves exposed to something we didn't understand, like a foreign language, or a salad."
