As you know, UCLA Team Haiti has returned!!! We flew in safely Friday evening and were so happy and surprised to be welcomed home by Bill Dunne [director, Office of Emergency Preparedness, UCLA Health System] and his two adorable little girls. :)

Most of Saturday and today I spent recovering and talking with family and friends. I've also just been thinking and processing everything that I experienced. It seems to hit you a little harder once you're not actively in the situation.

There are so many, many things to tell that I have been rather overwhelmed as to where to begin when people ask how the trip was. Today, I just had to jot down the one story that was closest to my heart. I have so many stories. I have some great pictures, and I made a lot of friends who plan to send me pics. I also received an absolutely beautiful letter written by a pediatric patient's mother; both the original letter in Creole, and a translation. I also have incredible drawings by a teenager who was trapped in the rubble for several days. He drew what he saw when he finally regained consciousness. It's all very overwhelming.
