Crime alert: Police seek suspect in sexual assault
Police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a woman in the early morning hours of Friday, Oct. 23.
The victim left her vehicle parked near the intersection of Veteran Boulevard and Gayley Avenue around 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. when a man, described as wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and a dark baseball cap, approached her and told her to cooperate and she wouldn't get hurt. He then led the victim to a dimly lit grassy area where she was sexually assaulted.
The suspect is described by police as a black man of fit build, 20 to 29 years old. Anyone with information should call the Los Angeles Police Ddpartment's Operations West Bureau, Sexual Assault Detail, at (213) 473-0561 or (213) 473-0447. Anyone who sees the suspect should avoid contact and call 911 as soon as possible to reach the UCLA Police Department or LAPD.
