Pups at Powell

Powell Library is packed with students cramming for finals, but the library has a quick study break to help the studious to de-stress: therapy dogs. Above, Ike shares his affection with sisters Devi, left, and Jayanti Sharma, two grad students taking a breather from their books. Library staff piggybacked on the UCLA Health System's People-Animal Connection program, which brings more than 50 certified therapy pups to the hospital for patients. Ike gets his own hospital badge, with his name and photo. During finals, volunteers like Ike's "grandma," Andrea Kichaven, detoured onto UCLA's main campus to share a little puppy love. The program continues at Powell from 3-5 p.m. through June 13.
