Richard Walter releases new screenwriting book
Richard Walter, professor and chair of the graduate screenwriting program at the School of Theater, Film and Television, has published “Essentials of Screenwriting: The Art, Craft, and Business of Film and Television Writing.” The book, an update of his 1988 classic, expands upon such topics as how to write spoken dialogue and how to get paid for your work. A member of the Writers Guild of America for more than three decades, Walter presents workshops throughout the world about screenwriting. He has appeared extensively in media such as NPR and "The Today Show," commenting on pop culture. He has also acted as an expert witness in intellectual property litigation.
