Staff News — a librarian's first novel, All-Staff Picnic
New novel for young adults
Elizabeth McAulay, a librarian for digital collection development at Powell Library, has written her first novel, "The Forsaken," to be published this month by Simon & Schuster. Written under her pen name, Lisa M.Stasse, it's a thriller about a group of teenage political dissidents who become exiled on a prison island in a dystopian future. McAulay said the book was inspired in part by the works of the late Ray Bradbury, "who wrote 'Fahrenheit 451' right where I work!"
