Staff News — Talented Bruins and new Staff Assembly executive board

Winners of UCLA Has Talent competition are named 

Three talented performers who took part in Staff Assembly’s UCLA Has Talent competition have been selected to perform before an audience of thousands at the 2012 All Staff Picnic on Aug. 9. Pianist Mary Bower of Housing and Hospitality Services, opera singer Michelle Drever from the Dean’s Office in the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and guitarist and singer Long Nguyen of the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies were selected by fellow Bruins voting online. They were among 10 semifinalists chosen in May by a panel of judges from Staff Assembly.

Staff Assembly elects 2012-13 executive board

Tanya Williams
Staff Assembly's new executive board members have been announced following a campuswide election. Beginning July 1, Tanya Williams, revenue manager for Housing & Hospitality Conference Services, will serve as Staff Assembly's 2012-2013 president. Named president-elect is Cindy Cordova, assistant to the vice dean for faculty in the David Geffen School of Medicine. Brandie Henderson, current president and administrative analyst in the Office of the Academic Senate, will serve as immediate past president.   
 
 
Other new officers include:
 
  • Vice president, special projects: Ashley Morris, training manager, Housing & Hospitality Services
  • Vice president, programs: Eric Gadal, lead property officer, UCLA Police Department
  • Vice president, strategic communications: Laurie Firestone-Siedelman, training and career development coordinator, Campus Human Resources
  • Vice president, events: Eleonor Villaver, sales manager, Housing & Hospitality Conference Services
  • Secretary/historian: Rejeana Mathis, management development coordinator, Campus Human Resources
  • Treasurer: Ivonne Bates, senior financial analyst, Transportation Services
  • Member-at-large: Kenny Donaldson, academic counselor, Intercollegiate Athletics
  • Vice President, programs: Eric Gadal, lead property officer, UCLA Police Department
  • Vice President, strategic communications: Laurie Firestone-Siedelman, training and career development coordinator, Campus Human Resources
  • Vice President, events: Eleonor Villaver, sales manager, Housing & Hospitality Conference Services
